In principle, please use either weight or anchor at the bottom end to stabilize the rain chain. If it is not stabilized, strong wind or rain will swing the rain chain and may damage the building and in other instances the rain chain itself could be damaged. Mainly, there are two methods to stabilize the rain chain.

1) Use weight for stability.

2) Stick an anchor into the ground and tie it to the bottom end of the rain chain.
