Wire-Spec Rain Chains Ideal for High Floors and Windy Locations
1. Ideal for installation on high floors
When installing rainwater chains on high floors, the impact of wind becomes significant, which may render standard rain chains with stainless-steel rods insufficient strength. In such cases, wire-type rain chains, which offer higher strength compared to standard stainless-steel models, are optimal for stable use in windy environments. This design allows for precise adjustments of the upper and lower lengths, enabling you to place orders with the exact length beforehand. On-site adjustments during installation are minimized as a result, improving efficiency and ensuring a smooth installation process.2. Strength ideal for use in windy locations
In high floors or areas with strong winds, the risk of breakage due to wind pressure increases with standard rain chains. These rainwater chains are designed to be less prone to breakage compared to typical stainless-steel models, featuring a structure that is less affected by wind. They are particularly ideal for use in commercial facilities and high-rise buildings, as the wire-type design is resistant to vibrations and swaying caused by the wind, ensuring stable performance over extended periods.
3. Rain chains that can be installed with tension
The wire-type rain chains are designed with fittings crimped onto the wire to secure the cups. This allows for installation under tension, preventing the rain chains from swaying due to wind or vibrations. By applying tension, stability after installation is enhanced, ensuring a more secure attachment of the rain chains.
There are several options for the upper and lower fastening patterns, so please feel free to consult us.
4. Differences and advantages compared to standard rain chains
Standard rain chains consist of stainless-steel rods linked together, providing adequate strength for general use. However, additional strength is required on high floors or areas with strong winds. The wire-type rain chains feature a design where fittings are crimped onto a single wire, resulting in a stronger structure. This design enhances the overall durability of the rainwater chains, allowing them to withstand wind and vibrations effectively.
5. Internal Structure and Strength of the Rain Chains
Our rain chains, “Toh,” “Toh L,” “Tama,” “Tama L,” and “Ta-ke,” are all connected using stainless steel rods. These products offer sufficient strength and can be used safely for standard usage. However, custom specifications can connect the upper and lower sections with a single wire for applications on high floors or in situations where wind impact is a concern.
• *Wire diameter: Standard φ2.5mm
• *Wire breaking load: 480kgf
6. Installation and Adjustment of Wire-Spec Rain Chains
Wire-spec rain chains have limited adjustability on-site due to the treatment of the upper and lower parts. Therefore, prior discussions are essential. Generally, the lower wire is sent with a straight cut, but please consult us regarding the end treatment. Additionally, the parts we provide are based on Japanese standards, so please be aware that screw specifications may differ.
